Matthew 5:13 New International Version
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”
Pastor Stephen’s Message on Sunday was off the chain; wasn’t it?! It’s true…YOU,ME…US…we’re the salt to the world…we’re the answer! It is our job from rising to sleeping to do our best to think on heavenly things. It is our duty to God to bring heaven to earth as best and as much as we can while we’re here.
However, many times we lose focus of that duty and calling because we’re running late, our house is a mess, a co-worker drives us nuts, we can’t do anything 100% perfect, etc, etc…the list goes on. We end up going around and around a never ending wheel of problem solving for silly, petty things without even realizing if we would just change our mind-sets for a matter of 5-minutes, WE COULD CHANGE THE WORLD.
Tonight when you get off work and go home, try spending your time doing this:
1. Spend your drive home (or five minutes of quietness in the bathroom if that’s all you can do) and think of all the things that drove you absolutely crazy today. While doing that, even if it’s difficult or nearly impossible, decide to give those situations the benefit-of-the-doubt. Give each moment a positive twist.
2. Read the Bible for five minutes before bed…even if it’s just one passage. Do the same thing in the morning. The Word of God says to “Meditate day and night”. You may not end up perfect tomorrow…but I guarantee you’ll be closer to the Kingdom of Heaven then you were today.
3. When you wake up in the morning…try and give every situation the benefit-of-the-dout. On top of that…ask yourself…”what good shall I do this day?”.
After all, Ben Franklin asked himself this question every morning…enough said.
Blessing and love to all of my Champion family!
All the Best,
