Part 4:  In Christ, We Find Out Who We Are And What We’re Living For

Ephesians 1:10-12 (MSG)  7-10 “Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need

11-12 “It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.”

1) We are forgiven – washed in the blood; cleansed

2) We are filled – temples of the Holy Spirit; power to demonstrate the miraculous

3) We are called – to live out His predestined purpose and promised plan

ILL: when we board a plane it is pre-destinated;

The attacks you are experiencing are not on you now, but on who you are going to be – what you’re going to do; your destination; your future, your purpose…

“In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will”  Ephesians 1:11 NIV

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 (NIV)

4) We are hopeful – that our future is in His hands; our faith is in His Word; our fears are unfounded, and our fight is worth it because, in Him, we win!

• Ours is the good fight of faith

• We are not fearful, but courageous, brave and confident

• We live by faith, not by sight
