Or if you teach a Sunday school class, this will give you enough material for the year. Or maybe you just want to work through a year’s worth of studies on your own or with a friend. Men of Integrity: Courage – Encouragement for men to live a life of integrity. The men of the Bible were mostly a courageous bunch. Consider Adam, who was less than perfect but still sought God, or Caleb, who stood against popular opinion to believe God’s promise to Israel. And who could be more courageous than Daniel, who trusted his sovereign God even as he was thrown to the lions? In the New Testament, we see Thomas courageously turn his doubt into a vital faith, Barnabas exuding courage to those around him, and even John Mark bouncing back after losing his courage. Our six-session course seeks to learn from all these daring men.

We were created to live in relationship with others. John Donne said, “No man is an island,” pointing to the interconnectedness we have with each other. And while it’s true that you and I live in some relationship with all those around us, good relationships are not automatic. The truth is that relationships take work. Because two people work at the same place or live in the same house does not automatically mean there is a strong relationship between the two. Just as the right glue can create a tight bond between two objects, there are certain things we can do to create a strong bond with another person. This study unpacks six “bonding agents” that can be used to create a strong connection between people, whether they are family members, coworkers, friends, or neighbors.

The correct answer to that question is foundational for receiving from God. If you lack this basic understanding, you’ll forever ask yourself doubt-filled questions like: “How could God love somebody like me?” and “How can I possibly expect to receive anything from the Lord? I don’t deserve it, I’m not good enough!” Spirit, Soul, and Body will help you eliminate those and other doubt-filled questions that destroy your faith. If you have trouble receiving from God, this is a must-read!

Everyone views life through a filter. The Bible calls that your philosophy. It’s the way you think and it controls the outcome of your life. Ask yourself, do you believe the bible is the infallible and inspired word of God? Do you believe there is only one way to God? Is God good or judgmental? Does He control your destiny or is that up to you? The answers to these questions and many more will determine your philosophy. That philosophy then, will affect the way you see many social issues like creations and evolution, abortion and homosexuality. Christian Philosophy addresses the way we think, or should think according to the word of God, and applies that in a practical way to the issues we are facing in our culture. It will change the way your view the world forever.
The Word of God is like a seed and your heart is the soil. Most Christians want change in some area of their lives. They try and try to make those changes but soon find themselves falling back into the same habits and behaviors. Self-discipline and self-control have once again failed them. So how does lasting change take place? A worm doesn’t struggle to become a butterfly in the cocoon. A seed doesn’t strive to become a tree and produce fruit. They simply do what they were designed to do by god and the change takes place, effortlessly. The Word of God is like a seed and your heart is the soil. When it’s planted and nurtured in the soil of your heart, it begins to grow. The result is transformation; and the fruit becomes evident to all. If you want real change in your life, this book is for you.
