Message Series:

“I am thankful for _______” Pt 2

How To Move From Thanks-Giving To Thanks-Living

 1)  Living with appreciation

•  We all like to be appreciated (volunteers, kindness, hard work)

“Husbands, you in turn must treat your wives with tenderness, viewing them as feminine partners who deserve to be honored, for they are co-heirs with you of the “divine grace of life,” so that nothing will hinder your prayers.”  1 Peter 3:7 TPT

•  Appreciation is shown through thanks

Sing to the Lord with grateful praise”  Psalms 147:17 NIV

•  When appreciation is overlooked, relationships breakdown

2)  Living with gratefulness

• You don’t look a gift horse in the mouth

“Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord, and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then fire from the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp. When the people cried out to Moses, he prayed to the Lord and the fire died down.”    Numbers 11:1-3 NIV

• People who complain and are never satisfied, will never be happy

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”” Hebrews 13:5 NIV

•  God doesn’t want us to approach our needs with Him from a complaining heart

•  Complainers are like blamers, they are victims!

3)  Living to love and bless others

• People who give back, go the extra mile, are quick to give with a willing heart, have mastered the art of thanks-living

We love because he first loved us.”  1stJohn 4:19 NIV

• When we serve or love without expecting anything in return, God becomes our source, our supply, He returns our blessing!

• We simply:

•  sow seed, (thankful for the seed)

•  live with a spirit of generosity, (everything comes from God, and He’s asking us to be generous like He has been with us)

•  and give all the glory to God (That’s Thanks-Living!)
